Sheriff, Holmes County
Sheriff Dennis Lee was born in Bonifay, FL on May 15, 1958. He is a graduate of Bethlehem High School, Holmes County, FL. He ia also a graduate of the Washington-Holmes Technical Center Law Enforcement and Corrections program; He attended Chipola Jr. College and has over 2000 hours of specialized law enforcement related training. He is a law enforcement and firearms instructor. Sheriff Lee and his wife Leesa have four children. He is a member of the Assembly of God church. Prior to his election as Sheriff of Holmes County, he was a Dispatcher/Jailer/Deputy in the Holmes County Sheriff's Office for three years; a Bonifay City Policeman for four years; the Bonifay Police Chief for eight years; was elected Sheriff of Holmes County in 1996; re-elected in 2000 and 2004. Sheriff Lee served in the US Air Force, Security Police. His honors and affiliations include Holmes County Juvenile Justice Council Chairman; Teen Court Board of Directors; West Florida Wilderness Institute Board of Directors; Holmes County Democratic Executive Committee; Bonifay Kiwanis Club Board of Directors; American Cancer Society; Gideon; Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, Bonifay.
