The New Hope Watch, held a Town Hall style meeting this month. The subject was underage consumption of alcoholic beverages. The guest speakers were Mrs. Catherine Wynne, Mr. Jerry Sewell and Mrs. Jeana Prescott from the Holmes County Countywide Anti-Substance Abuse Effort (CASE). Additional speakers were: Trooper Jason French from the Florida Highway Patrol, Officer Kathy Jackson from Florida Fish and Game, Sgt. Michael Raley of the Holmes County Sheriff Office, Ms. Janice Brown from the Florida Deptartment of Children and Families and Mr. Jason Motley a Holmes County School Board Member. This team was able to express their concerns about underage drinking and what kind of life long impact it can have. Sheriff Dennis Lee, summed up the meeting up with one statement: "The influence parents have on their children sets their destiny."
